I haff been requested to explain how you can use Bittorent to download stuff of questionable legality. So here's my step-by-step guide.

Bittorent is a program you can use to download just about anything you want (music, games, movies, TV programs) - like Limewire on fire!

1. Get a bittorent client (a program for downloading Torrents). I recommend uTorrent.
2. Look for a Torrent site. The most popular are ThePirateBay (my personal favourite), MiniNova and TorrentScan.
   
3. Search for files you want and click on download.
4. Sit back and watch your files magically appear!
   

In this case, I'm gonna download Red Hot Chili Pepper's calssic album "Blood Sex Sugar Magik". First I search for it on MiniNova.

This file has the most activity, so it's likely I'll be able to download it quickly.



Next I get a page with lots of information. The most important bit is the circled link to the file itself.



Once downloaded, the Torrent file (which doesn't actually contain the file you want) will tell your program, in this case uTorrent, what to download and from who. This bit may take a while, depending on how many people have the file. If you watch the porgress bar, it won't go any faster...



Luckily, my album has arrived as the MP3s on their own. However, sometimes files are packaged as RAR or ZIP files, as you can see here. For these you'll need a program like TugZip.



Don't forget that while the technology is perfectly legal, what you download is up to you, and could get you in trouble. Now have fun, I'm going to listen to my new album.
